You are riding along and "Whoooosh", that Suburban felt a little too close. You think, "What if we had wider roads, bicycle lanes, better transportation planning, 'Ride to Work' Days, better cyclist awareness..."
Then you think, "Why don't THEY do something about it?"
Well, YOU are the "they/them". You can provide your opinions, input and assistance. Become part of the planning process. Help determine what kind of cycling environment your community has. What you do counts. On this page, we provide some contacts and links on how to get informed and involved.
Webmaster's Soapbox: Remember, every time you ride your bike, you are an advocate. Motorists, other cyclists and pedestrians form their opinions partly based on their interaction with you. Treat them all with respect, politeness and a smile. One good deed or courteous gesture gains you an ally. Do the opposite and don't be surprised when your neighbor expresses support for restrictions, bans, etc.
